The New York Liberty are scorching! Win streak held intact as they roll past the Washington Mystics.
Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop
The New York Liberty defeated the Washington Mystics Friday night 74-66, in front of 9,340 fans at Madison Square Garden. The victory extends their win streak to a season-high seven games. That’s right, the Liberty are the hottest team in the league.
What’s most impressive is the competition they’ve done it against – four of the seven victories have come against top-5 teams (Minnesota, Los Angeles, Connecticut, Washington).
Now standing at 19-12, New York is in position to challenge the Connecticut Sun (20-11) for first place in the Eastern Conference. With the playoffs fastly approaching, their newfound groove and momentum is right on time.

Moment of The Game
Tina Charles drilled a three-pointer from the top of the key at the 3:32 mark of the third quarter, bringing the deficit to 54-56. More importantly, the basket brought her to No. 20 on the all-time WNBA scoring list, surpassing former Washington Mystic Chamique Holdsclaw.
Player of The Game
Epiphany Prince did it all Friday. She scored a game-high 20 points on 54.5 percent shooting (2-of-4 from behind the arc), grabbed four rebounds and added two assists. The effort was there on the defensive end as well – her activity kept Mystics guards flustered and resulted in a steal and block. Prince was a consistent source of energy and kept Washington busy on defense.
The Liberty return to action Sunday when they host the Chicago Sky. Tipoff is at 3:00 PM (ET) and will be aired on NBA TV and MSG Network.
