Down 0-2 -- No problem. Nashville Predators even Stanley Cup series in route. Pressure shifts to Pittsburgh.
Don’t look now but the Nashville Predators have made quite a statement, storming back to tie the Stanley Cup Finals.
After scoring four goals in the first two match-ups, Nashville has gone on to erupt for nine goals in their Game 3 and 4 victories. Perhaps we are witnessing them come into their true form. After all, thus far in the playoffs, Nashville has been the most efficient scoring team (60 goals in 20 games).
Scoring influx aside, not enough can be said of Predators goalie Pekka Rinne. All Rinne did in Game 4 was save 23-of-24 shots by Pittsburgh ( 95% SV). This, combined with his 27-of-28 saves in Game 3, has allowed Nashville to storm back into this series.
With the momentum shifting back towards the Predators, the Penguins will need to bring their A-game Thursday night. The series will return to PPG Paints Arena at 8 pm ET. Sidney Crosby (4 games, 1 goal, 3 assists) will need to show up for Pittsburgh to have a chance at regaining the advantage.
